Cheap City-Break

According to the HotelGuru.ro reservation site, a city break in Brașov reaches up to 550-600 lei (140€), considering that two nights‘ accommodation at a 3 star hotel/pension in Brașov costs almost 400 lei (80€), and according to the chosen means of trasportation, the journey to Brașov costs between 150 and 200 lei (45€) for two persons.

Multistorey car-parking

Tourists, who reach the feet of the Tâmpa Mountain have at their disposal a central modern car parking with six stories and a terrace with space for 306 cars. For those who own electric cars, there are eight special spaces where they can charge the cars. The price is 1.5 lei per hour (0.25€/hour) aș for any other parking space în the Brașov City Center.

The Oak‘s route

The custodian of the protected area from Racoș, the „Carpatera” Association, decide to increase the attractiveness of the area and finalized the landscaping of the „Oak‘sroute. The 10.5 km long route links the basalt columns from Racoș and the oldest oak în the country (900 years). The salty well is visible too, from where the local people take their water for pickles.

Bed of ice

For the 6th year consecutively the construction of the famous Bâlea Lake Hotel of Ice is fulfilled by an ice masons team of 25 constructors from Aluniș, Mureș County, led by Varga Atilla. The team has a 15 year experience în the field. The „building material” for the construction is the Bâlea Lake, the biggest glacier lake from the Făgăraș Mountains.

Although Maripusc lies outside the historic city center, the short walk to Strada Lungă (Lungă Street) finally pays off. In this tiny coffee shop that has no tables, sweet-lovers find everything their heart desires. Be it chocolate-dipped fruits, self-created sweets or unusual cakes: there are many reasons to return more than once.

One of those wonderful places where you can relax, chat with friends or work undisturbed is the newly opened Hof Cafe. The young owners, who also run a coworking space in Strada Lungă, took care of every single detail.
